For A Calculation of the Remainder (1980), the initial book in the Isomorphic series, Rapoport combined a selection of images from Objects on My Dresser, printouts of mathematical calculations related to the modulus function she encountered when studying the FORTRAN programming language, artworks by Rapoport’s friend, artist Harold Paris, and newspaper stories about the 1980 murder of Rapoport’s neighbor Mark Walsh.
